Forsaken jayce recolor1/5/2024 ![]() ![]() Here's the full 5.8 patch notes with an introduction by Scarizard & Pwyff: ![]() Zed teleports, Akali disappears, Eve teleports, Kha'zix disappears and leaps, Fiora dashes, Riven dashes, Ahri dashes and Yasuo dashes so Jayce's combo needs to hurt before he has to back off and wait for cooldowns or he doesn't contribute.Patch 5.8 is on the way and the official patch notes have been posted!Ĭontinue reading for the complete notes, including oodles of balance changes, improvements for ARAM & Howling Abyss, new skins, and more! Jayce can't infiltrate too deep and if you look at all the other assassin-like champions, they usually have the option of a decent escape route. I think the damage is needed but not the spammability, since that goes against his hit-and-run identity. As it currently is, you can use it every ~3 seconds. Imo, the best adjustment would be to increase the cooldown on his Q at higher levels. He is definitely strongest in lane and early 1v1s but in teamfights a QE combo every ~10 seconds doesn't contribute all that much when it's too dangerous to go for a hammer trade or get close enough for autoattacks. I do believe it's important to address imbalance to keep the game fun for everyone so it would be great to have more data on champion win rates at all ranks and see how it shifts according to the length of the game but currently, I'm here to defend my favourite champion so I can continue playing him tomorrow (see what I did there) and for the rest of my wild rift days without being a burden to my team.Ībsolutely, the majority of the time you should be in canon form but in teamfights that quick hammer trade onto their front line to keep them away from the carries often leads to instant CC and death, since he has no way to safely disengage without say a well-timed QSS, and despite the armour buff, he doesn't last long when locked down. Outside of his damage, he offers very little utility to a team other than a speed buff and a knockback, so to see his damage nerfed in typical Riot fashion (poor Kayle) would take away his only purpose in a game and make him useless. I see him played in youtuber's videos and my friends' games (anecdotal, I know) but rather than dominating most games he's in, he tends to do pretty averagely save for the occasional stand-out performance, which you'd expect from any champion. If he doesn't get that early lead, he's not nearly as impactful on the game. The thing is, he's a reasonably high skill floor champion (by no means the highest though) and his identity is as an early-game damage powerhouse which lends itself to snowballing. Wildstats.gg shows he is below 50% win rate in many cases with a few exceptions (61.5% wr, solo lane in SEA for the past 30 days I'm looking at you!) ![]() It's not at all unusual to see the top players get 60-70% win rates on their favourite champions with at very least 50 games played. I've spent a good while scrolling through the top EU players' win rates on their most played champions as well as the stats collected by wildstats.gg and Jayce falls into line without standing out. I don't.įull disclosure, I'm a Jayce main, so I may be biased but. Jayce is definitely in the higher tiers right now, no question about it but all the wild rift youtubers are saying he's super broken and needs a nerf, and much of the community seems to agree. ![]()
